“I like being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, men can’t wear dresses, but we can wear the pants.” — Whitney Houston History: It all began during World War 1, when women wore their husbands’ trousers while they took on jobs previously assigned to men, and increasingly wore trousers as leisurewear in the 1920s and 30s. For a period in the 1970s, trousers became quite fashionable for women. And in the 20th century, they became a must-have! Current status: Gone are those days when skinny jeans were considered to be ‘The ultimate stylish pants’. No more are trouser pants considered to be ‘strictly office wear’ but have turned more of a ‘staple wear’. From various cuts to colours to print, they’re all high on trend. Well, there basically are 7 types of trousers: 1. Culottes/ Palazzo 2.Hipsters/ Bell bottoms 3. Basic 4. Semi-slack 5. Capri (inch above the ankle) 6. Toreador (2 inches below the knee) 7. Pedal pushers Palazzos are a summer fav among most women. While basic and capris in different fits are the on-going rage. Not just Hollywood but also many Bollywood celebrities have been spotted sporting them. Let’s take a look at the various events when our filmy beauties ditched their dresses and gowns for trousers! For let’s confess, you and I wouldn’t dare to wear these printed Zara pants, so effortlessly. How to- *If you are bold enough to carry printed trousers, make sure you team it up with minimal accessories and a solid coloured or a colour block bag would be good to go with it. *If they’re cropped pants, you need to make sure you’re wearing one of your finest pair of footwear with it. (Heels preferable) How I simply adore this look! Vaani Kapoor proves to us that one need not wear skinny pants to look sexy; high waists are just as sexy! Monochrome outfit with gold shoes and accessories – It couldn’t get more perfect! How to- *Am presuming all fashion junkies have atleast one crop top by now! Now you know what to wear them with for a very stylishly demure look. *Avoid focus on the carry-along.
Bold and Beautiful!
You don’t always have to necessarily show skin. Deepika Padukone proves my point!
One definitely wouldn’t imagine teaming a loose blouse with wide-legged pants. Oh wait, would we really opt for wide-legged trousers, at all?
I’m guessing, NO.
Since the time skinny came to be considered as a staple in the industry; wide-legged/ bell bottoms were neglected as passé.
Do not be surprised if boot-cut denims soon make a comeback!
*A nice hairstyle
*A choker would be great accessory
*A chunky finger ring would be a nice option
