‘Time for some makeup’, giving some opera effect to this sentence will give the best glimpse of this spring 2016 makeup scenario, trend. It is all about drama, impact, sparkle and mostly showbiz. Makeup is a key ingredient for any look, let it be on runway or on street. Makeup not only enhances and compliments our looks but also brings forth our individuality and serenity.
‘Eyes are the window to our soul’, and also window to the world of fashion. Eyes play an important role in our day to day life, our clothes might be our first impression but our eyes have the lasting impression. Thus making it important for us to keep them pretty or as this season goes ‘dramatic’. Using of ‘graphic liners’ is a great way to dramatize our eyes, not just for cat eyes but also for geometric angles and dual flicks. Another way of putting drama into our eyes is by using ‘khol pencil’. What better drama than smoky eyes, that black shadow surrounding our soulful eyes and uplifting their mesmerizing appeal. If that is too much then toning it down will also give a little effect, like putting a single line of khol pencil and slightly smudging it, the drama will be less but the eyes will be lively. Using of eye-shadow is another drama, especially if it is season’s trendiest shadow, ‘metallic bronze’ eyeshadow.
If eyes are not your drama but lips are, do not panic, this season also brings drama to the lips. From hot ‘red berry lips to gorges plum black lips’, they are all welcomed with open arms and fuller lips. Every shade of red and plum is appreciated and accepted, and more over dramatized. These shades can be used on full lips without any hesitation, no minimal effect required.
Not all days can have drama, so for some days there is the ‘flushed cheek’ look. A minimal approach yet cheeky and full of blush, giving a very winter day girl look. Thus, cutting the drama and creating a soft side to makeup. But not to forget that drama is main hero of the season, let it be eye drama or lip drama, all in all the drama is on.
